Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Camvori mobile app and this website (together, the “Service”). By installing or using Camvori you agree to the Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
On iPhone, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement also applies. On Android, the Google Play Terms of Service apply. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.
What Camvori is
Camvori lets you turn a phone into a live camera and watch it from other phones you’ve paired and approved. Pairing is done in person with a QR code. Video is sent between the phones and isn’t recorded or stored by Camvori.
Camvori is an early release. Features, limits and performance can change, and the Service may be interrupted or contain bugs.
Using Camvori responsibly
A camera is powerful, and you’re responsible for how you use it. You agree that you will:
- Only point a camera at places and people where you have the right to — and, where the law requires it, tell people they may be filmed. This is especially important for bedrooms, bathrooms, guests, tenants, employees and children.
- Follow the laws that apply to video and audio monitoring where you are. Rules on recording sound and on filming others differ widely.
- Never use Camvori for covert surveillance, stalking, harassment, or to watch someone without their knowledge or consent.
- Pair and approve only phones you control or trust, and remove any viewer you no longer want.
- Not attempt to break, reverse engineer, overload or misuse the Service, its servers or other users’ devices, except as the law allows.
We may suspend or limit access to the connection servers if the Service is being abused.
Your devices and security
You’re responsible for your phones, for keeping them updated and locked, and for deciding who is allowed to watch. Anyone holding an unlocked phone that’s paired with your camera may be able to watch it. If a phone is lost, remove it from the camera’s access list right away.
Camvori Plus subscriptions
Some features are free; others — such as watching away from home and pairing more devices — are part of the optional paid plan, Camvori Plus.
- Subscriptions are purchased, billed and renewed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, at the price shown there before you confirm.
- Plus renews automatically until you cancel. Manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings; deleting the app doesn’t cancel it.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
- We may change which features are free or paid, and prices, with notice where the law or the stores require it.
License and ownership
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for its intended purpose. Camvori, its name, logo and design belong to us and our licensors. Your video and audio remain yours; we don’t claim any rights in them and we don’t receive them.
Third-party services
Camvori relies on third parties such as Apple, Google, RevenueCat and hosting providers. We aren’t responsible for their services, and their own terms apply to your use of them.
Not a safety or security system
Camvori is a convenience app. It is not a certified security, alarm, safety or medical monitoring system, and it can fail — for example because of a dead battery, a lost connection, a phone update or an interrupted app. Don’t rely on it to protect people, animals, property or health, or in an emergency.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent the law allows, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that it is free from security vulnerabilities. Some places don’t allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Camvori and its team won’t be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim (or, if you paid nothing, to zero). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.
Ending your use
You can stop using Camvori at any time by deleting the app and cancelling any subscription. We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms or if we need to stop offering the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, disclaimers and liability) will do so.
Changes to these terms
We may update the Terms from time to time. We’ll post the new version here and change the “last updated” date. If you keep using Camvori after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws that apply where our operating entity is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
